Old Electrical Controls

Real Facilities Are Not Clean Slates.

Systems integration in a live industrial environment means working around what’s already there. A new PLC may need to exchange data with a 1990s DCS. A modern servo system may share a machine frame with a relay-logic safety circuit that production can’t afford to take down for rewiring. New SCADA has to talk to field instruments wired for 4–20mA and a Modbus RTU protocol from fifteen years ago.

Celtex brings the breadth to handle that full picture — current platform expertise alongside genuine hands-on experience with legacy hardware, protocols, and wiring conventions. We design systems that work in the real environment, not the ideal one.

Our Core Integration Services

PLC Programming

IEC 61131-3 application development across multiple platforms — ladder, structured text, function block, and instruction list. Full commissioning support from I/O loop checks through production acceptance testing.

Legacy Equipment Support

Ongoing support for control systems that are no longer manufactured — program backup and recovery, spare parts sourcing, fault diagnosis, and engineering workarounds that extend useful life without a full replacement project.

Platform Migration & Retrofitting

Structured migration from obsolete control platforms to modern equivalents — preserving machine behaviour, I/O mappings, and operator familiarity while replacing hardware that can no longer be supported in the field.

We Work Across The Full Equipment Lifecycle.

Legacy Platforms

Keeping Aged Systems Productive.

Discontinued hardware rarely fails at a convenient time. When OEM support is gone and documentation is incomplete, you need an integrator with the technical depth to work from first principles — tracing circuits, recovering programs, and diagnosing faults without relying on a manufacturer’s hotline.

  • Allen-Bradley SLC 500, PLC-5, MicroLogix
  • Siemens S5 / S7-300 / S7-400
  • Modicon Quantum / Premium / 984
  • GE Fanuc Series 90 / VersaMax
  • Omron C / CJ / CS series
  • Mitsubishi A / Q series
  • ROBOX RBXE / R3 motion controllers
  • Parker 6K / Compax3 motion platforms
  • Relay & hardwired logic systems
  • Serial protocols — RS232, RS422, RS485

Modern Platforms

Current Systems, Optimized.

New hardware delivers its full value only when it’s specified and commissioned with care. We work across today’s leading control platforms from architecture design through site startup — not just parameter entry and basic I/O checkout.

  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix / CompactLogix
  • Siemens S7-1200 / S7-1500 / TIA Portal
  • Beckhoff CX series + TwinCAT 3
  • Mitsubishi iQ-R / iQ-F + GX Works3
  • AutomationDirect Productivity series
  • Omron NX / NJ + Sysmac Studio
  • EtherCAT / EtherNet/IP / PROFINET
  • OPC UA & Modbus TCP data integration
  • TwinCAT HMI / Ignition / FactoryTalk View
  • Functional safety — TwinSAFE, GuardLogix

And much more.

Bridging Yesterday with Tomorrow.

Making Old and New Work Together. Seamlessly.

The most common systems integration challenge isn’t choosing the best new platform — it’s getting that platform to communicate reliably with equipment that predates it by ten or twenty years. Protocol conversion, signal conditioning, data format translation, and network segmentation are practical engineering problems that require hands-on experience with both sides of the connection. Celtex has worked at that boundary enough to know where the friction points are and how to engineer around them without creating fragile dependencies.

Protocol conversion

Bridging legacy serial networks (Modbus RTU, DH+, DF1, DeviceNet) to modern Ethernet-based protocols — including gateway selection, address mapping, and latency management.

Signal & I/O conditioning

Interfacing legacy analog and discrete signals to modern I/O systems — including isolated signal conditioners, relay interface modules, and voltage level translation for mixed-vintage wiring.

Phased migration

Replacing control systems incrementally — running legacy and modern hardware in parallel during transition periods to maintain production continuity.

Systems Integration Projects

Integration Work We Handle

Greenfield Installations

New control systems designed from the ground up — architecture, hardware specification, panel build, programming, and full site commissioning for new equipment or facility expansions.

Brownfield Retrofits

Control system replacement within an operating facility — designed around production constraints, existing field wiring, and the need to minimise planned downtime during cutover.

Machine Re-Controls

Replacement of OEM control systems on specific machines — recovering machine behaviour from observation and I/O tracing where original documentation is incomplete or unavailable.

Network & Data Integration

Connecting isolated control systems to plant-wide networks — SCADA, MES, and historian integration via OPC UA, Modbus TCP, and industrial Ethernet protocols.

Safety System Upgrades

Replacing hardwired relay safety logic with modern safety PLC architectures — risk assessment support, safety function design to IEC 62061 / ISO 13849, and SIL/PL verification.

Remote Monitoring

Adding visibility to previously isolated equipment — instrument loop additions, PLC data capture, and remote HMI access for facilities where on-site presence is costly or infrequent.
